I work in the historic centre and along the Grand Canal, on the Lido, in Murano and Burano, through to Mestre and the Riviera del Brenta with its Venetian villas. I know what Venetian properties require: compact spaces, logistics by water, light that changes constantly, and delicate surfaces such as stucco, marble, mirrors and Murano glass. Every shoot is planned to work with these constraints and turn them into an advantage.

The light of Venice as a design element
Photographing in Venice means working with a unique light: reflections from the water rising across the ceilings, mullioned windows, historic interiors in half shadow next to luminous glazing. I use integrated natural light and considered exposure times to keep colours faithful and detail in the materials, without the artificial effect that flattens fine spaces.
